CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team (6-2, 1-0 PL) swept MIT (2-1, 0-0 NEWMAC), 7-0, Saturday afternoon. In the victory, BU earned the win on all three doubles courts and won five singles matches in straight sets.
 
Junior Victoria Carlsten and freshman Navya Vadlamudi were first to win in the No. 3 doubles spot, blanking their opponents 6-0. Senior Erica Di Battista and junior Kaitlin Tan secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win in the No. 2 spot moments later.
 
In singles, BU claimed the win with results from the Nos. 2, 4 and 1 spots, respectively. Carlsten won first in a 6-3, 6-3 decision. Tan was not far behind, waxing her opponent 6-0 in both sets to put BU up 3-0. Grad student Shelly Yaloz sealed the deal with a 6-3, 6-3 win of her own at the top spot. Play continued on all remaining courts and BU came away with the win on each of them.
 
The Terriers will be back in action on Sunday when they face Dartmouth at 1 p.m.
