A two-time America East All-Conference Team honoree and John B. Simpson Award recipient for excellence in leadership with the Terriers, Chrissy Cerretani ('00) enters her fourth season as an assistant coach with head coach Lesley Sheehan.

Over the past two years, the Terriers have claimed two Patriot League titles and two NCAA berths. In 2015, Johanna Hyoty became the first in the conference since 2003 to be named both PL Player and Scholar-Athlete of the Year after being ranked as high as No. 122 in the nation. Before rejoining the Terriers in the fall of 2012, she spent two years traveling with her brother, James, on the ATP Doubles Tour. She coached him to quarterfinal appearances at the 2011 and 2012 Wimbledon Championships along with a end-of-year ATP world ranking of 45. A native of Reading, Mass., Cerretani was ranked as high as No. 2 in doubles and No. 32 in singles at the national junior level before attending Clemson University. After earning All-ACC honors as a freshman and helping lead the Tigers to the NCAA tournament, she transferred to BU prior to the the 1998-99 season. Playing under Sheehan, she earned All-America East accolades and helped guide the Terriers to the America East title and the program's first-ever NCAA appearance in 1999. Serving as team captain her senior year, she received the athletic department's John B. Simpson Award for her enthusiasm and leadership, as the Terriers earned a second consecutive NCAA bid. Graduating with a bachelor's degree in journalism, she remained with the program for two more years as an assistant coach, helping the Terriers claim two more conference titles and NCAA bids between 2001-03. Also earning a masters degree in journalism, Cerretani went on to coach at the International Tennis Hall of Fame (Newport, R.I.), Tennis Europe and the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Mass. She has privately coached regionally and nationally ranked juniors, adult teams and has coordinated and participated in several pro-am exhibitions as well.
