BOSTON – Riding a 16-game home unbeaten streak, the Boston University men's soccer team will host Santa Clara on Sunday with action slated for a 6 p.m. start time.

The Broncos mark the second consecutive West Coast Conference opponent to visit Nickerson Field this week after BU tied Saint Mary's, 1-1, back on Thursday.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • After opening the season with a scoreless draw against then-No. 9 New Hampshire, BU has recorded 1-1 ties against Northeastern, UMass Lowell and Saint Mary's. The Gaels are the only opponent so far to own a lead, which lasted for just 31:11.
  • After junior Quin DeLaMater and sophomore Jason Zacarias scored following opponent turnovers, senior Daniel Kim netted the first goal of the season that was setup by a teammate thanks to junior DIego Rived earning his first assist in two years.
  • DeLaMater, Rived and senior Kevin Torres are the only three Terriers to have played at least 300 minutes (out of 360) this season.
  • Junior Ben Alexander has started the last two games at net, posting a .818 save percentage and 1.00 goals against average.
  • Opponents are averaging 3.8 extra shots (10.8-7.0) per game with a 22-9 advantage in corner kicks.
SCOUTING SANTA CLARA
  • Following last year's 7-7-3 season, the Broncos are 1-2 so far this fall with all three contests coming on the road. They started with a 1-0 victory at UC San Diego and followed with losses at UC Davis (2-1) and most recently at Fordham (4-0) this past Thursday.
  • Florian Deletioglu and Tyler Tipton have both recorded a goal, while Will Wiersdorf owns a team-high two assists.
  • Jackson Ozburn started at net at Fordham, collecting six saves after Jack Stoecker collected five saves against two goals allowed over 180 minutes played.
  • Santa Clara is averaging one more shot than opponents, 11.0-10.0, with a 14-11 lead in corner kicks.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BU dropped the only meeting back in 2007, 3-0, with Providence serving as host.
LOOKING AHEAD
  • The Terriers will conclude their three-game homestand by opening their Patriot League title defense against Army West Point on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m.
  • BU clinched its second-ever PL regular season title last fall at Army and is 5-0-3 all-time at home in the series with three straight ties.
