WEST POINT, N.Y. - In its final match of the regular season, the Boston University women's tennis team posted a dominant 4-0 win over Army West Point to remain undefeated in Patriot League play.
In doubles, senior
Victoria Carlsten and junior
Nina Gulbransen won their match at line three in a 6-3 outcome to lay the foundation for the doubles point. Freshmen
Uma Bakaityte and
Blanka DeMicheli posted a 6-3 victory at the No. 1 spot to clinch the doubles point.Â
In singles, freshman
Ellie Gyuro continued to have an impressive weekend as she won her match at line six 6-0, 6-0 to give BU its second point of the match. Bakaityte was next to finish with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at line two. Clinching the match was Carlsten who, at the top of the lineup, won 6-2, 7-5 to keep BU undefeated in league play this season.
With a 5-0 Patriot League record, BU sits atop the league standings headed into the Patriot League Championship. The Terriers will play their first match on Friday, April 19 at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.Â
