BOSTON – Seeking its first win over a ranked opponent in three years, the Boston University men's soccer team will visit No. 9 New Hampshire on Sunday evening with the ESPN+ broadcast set to begin at 5 p.m.
The Terriers opened their 74th season on Thursday by overcoming an early penalty kick conversion with a second-half goal to post a 1-1 draw at Albany, while the Wildcats dropped a 2-1 decision at No. 20 Maryland.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU's last win over a ranked opponent came against then-No. 23 Navy in overtime at home in 2019. The Terriers' last road victory over a ranked team occurred in 2014 at then-No. 19 Dartmouth.
- The Terriers opened a season with a draw for the first time since 2011.
- Senior Quinn Matulis netted his fourth goal over his last three appearances dating back to last season with junior Andrew Rent earning the assist.
- Senior Francesco Montali had two saves after Albany converted on a penalty kick during the 23rd minute.

- The Wildcats led the NCAA with four of the 38 Division I players named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Preseason Watch List coming from their program.
- Yannick Bright was a First Team All-American and America East Midfieder of the Year last season, while Jassem Koleilat ranked second nationally with a 0.427 goals against average alongside eight shutouts.
- The Terrapins scored in the 14th and 75th minutes respectively before UNH found the back of the net in the 83rd minute. The teams finished tied in shots, 9-9.
SERIES HISTORY
- BU leads the all-time series, 23-22-9, dating back to 1966.
