KINGSTON, R.I. – In the final non-conference tuneup before opening Patriot League play, the Boston University women's tennis team posted a 4-0 win at Rhode Island Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers (6-7) swept through doubles for the first point by a combined score of 19-8 and then captured three singles points in straight sets to defeat the Rams (6-8).

Victoria Carlsten and freshman
Michelle Kleynerman started things off with a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles. Graduate student
Emily Kim and junior
Erica Di Battista clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win in the No. 1 slot, while senior
Shelly Yaloz and freshman
Sydney Sharma posted a 7-5 victory at line 3.
Both Carlsten (#1) and Yaloz (#4) dropped the fewest games in identical 6-3, 6-1 victories in their respective singles matches. Di Battista added another point with a 6-2, 6-3 win at line 2.
The Terriers will next head to West Point, N.Y., to face off against Loyola Maryland at 12 p.m.
