Men's Basketball Travels to Bucknell for PL Saturday Afternoon Matchup

BOSTON – Looking to carry momentum from a pair of 15-point victories, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit Bucknell on Saturday with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.

Though the Terriers completed their first sweep of the season this past Wednesday with a 92-77 win over Loyola Maryland, they will be facing the Bison for the first time this year. Bucknell posted a 98-83 win over the Greyhounds last Saturday and will be coming off a 68-59 loss at Army West Point.

With only nine conference games remaining, the contest has significance, as only two contests separate leader Colgate (7-2)  and the three No. 5 teams tied at 5-4, including the Bison, with BU in a three-way tie at 6-3.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is 2-2 in road PL games this season with wins at Holy Cross (79-64) and Loyola (85-53) ... The Terriers came up just short at American (67-63) and Colgate (79-70).
  • Senior Max Mahoney leads the Terriers in both scoring (15.4 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg) after claiming his fourth double-double of the season against Loyola with 29 points and 10 boards.
  • Sophomore Walter Whyte is second in both categories at 12.6 ppg and 7.1 rpg ... He had his personal-best streak of games with double-figure points snapped at 11 contests by the Greyhounds.
  • Junior Javante McCoy (11.1 ppg) tallied a season-high 24 points on Wednesday, while sophomore Jonas Harper (7.5 ppg) flushed four 3-pointers for the third time this season en route to 14 points.
  • BU has had a double-double in each of the last four contests and has had 10 men on the roster score in double figures.
  • The Terriers are averaging 72.1 ppg and 46.0 FG% while holding opponents to 68.7 ppg and 44.2 FG%.
