BOSTON – The Boston University men's basketball team will conclude a doubleheader at Case Gym by hosting Patriot League preseason favorite Lehigh with tip-off slated for 4:30 p.m. The match will follow the women's basketball team's matchup against Holy Cross, which is set to begin at 2 p.m.

CITY OF BOSTON DAY

  • The busiest day on campus in Boston University Department of Athletics history will provide city of Boston residents with an unprecedented opportunity to cheer on the Terriers — for free. (Register Here)
  • Saturday, Feb. 16, will be City of Boston Day at BU, as Beantown residents will receive complimentary admission to all six ticketed Terrier events on campus that day, thanks to BU's Office of Government & Community Affairs and the Department of Athletics.
  • Doubleheaders will be held at Nickerson Field (men's and women's lacrosse), Case Gym (men's and women's basketball), and Agganis Arena (men's and women's ice hockey), all of which are located within a two-minute walk of each other.
  • City residents simply need to register online at this link at www.GoTerriers.com/BostonDay and tickets will be waiting for them at the ticket will-call location at the venue for the game(s).
  • Requests must be submitted online by 5 p.m. Friday, unless capacity is reached sooner.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • All three of BU's top scorers have reached double figures over the last five games to help BU average 71.8 ppg on the season.
  • Owner of five double-doubles this season, junior Max Mahoney leads the Terriers at 16.5 ppg and 6.1 rpg while classmate Tyler Scanlon is second in both categories on the team at 13.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg ... Scanlon is 70 points away from the 1,000-point milestone, while Mahoney is 84 away.
  • Sophomore Javante McCoy (11.5 ppg) has posted a team-high 19 points in each of the last two games.
  • Highlighted by a season-high 20-point performance at Lehigh, redshirt-freshman Alex Vilarino has started all 13 conference games to average 8.1 ppg.
  • Sophomore Andrew Petcash and freshman Jonas Harper are a combined 31-of-67 (.463) from behind the arc in conference play.
  • The Terriers are 5-6 at home with conference wins against Holy Cross (68-54) and Bucknell (87-80) ... They most recently fell to Lafayette, 79-72.
  • BU is holding opponents to 72.0 ppg and 46.4 FG%. 
SCOUTING LEHIGH
  • The Mountain Hawks are 9-4 in conference play with two losses in the last three games to Colgate (84-62) and Bucknell (87-75) with a 83-57 win against Navy.
  • Lehigh is the nation's top 3-point shooting team at 43.9 3FG% with 9.7 made 3-pointers per game ... The Mountain Hawks rank 12th at 49.0 FG% and 20th at 75.9 FT% to rank 36th at 80.4 ppg with the help of 15.6 assists per game (43rd).
  • On the flip side, Lehigh is allowing 77.3 ppg, 303rd worst in the country and ranks 313th in turnovers forced.
  • Lance Tejada is one of four in double figures at 14.3 ppg, just ahead of Pat Andree (13.8 ppg) and Kyle Leufroy (13.5 ppg) ... Jordan Cohen is the other in double figures at 13.2 ppg, while James Karnik is averaging 8.9 ppg and a team-high 6.3 rpg.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Terriers lead the all-time series, 8-6, after Lehigh claimed a 94-78 home victory back on Jan. 26.
  • The Mountain Hawks opened with a 15-2 run and led 57-32 at the half ... Down 23 with 10:48 left, BU went on 18-4 run over next five minutes but never got closer ... Lehigh shot 67.3 FG% and held the Terriers to 43.5 FG% ... Jordan Cohen and James Karnik combined for 53 points.
  • In the last meeting in Jan. 2018 at Case Gym, Mahoney totaled 22 points, while sophomore Walter Whyte had 16 points and 11 rebounds for a 92-81 victory.
