BOSTON – With three games remaining in the regular season, the Boston University men's soccer team will host No. 22 nationally-ranked Navy on Saturday in a critical Patriot League matchup with action slated to begin at 1 p.m. The annual alumni game will take place at 10 a.m.

The Terriers are currently in seventh place at six points, one behind American and two behind Bucknell with Army West Point looming at five points. Only the top six teams advance to the PL tournament. The Midshipmen are in second at 13 points, three behind Lehigh with Lafayette and Loyola Maryland tied for third at 12 points.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • The Terriers will be seeking their first win against a ranked opponent since claiming a 3-1 victory at then-No. 25 Dartmouth in 2014.
  • BU saw its three-game win streak snapped at Bucknell on Sunday (3-0) following victories over Harvard (2-0), American (2-1) and Colgate (2-1 OT).
  • Senior and leading scorer Matt McDonnell (7g) missed the Bucknell matchup after leaving the Harvard game early in the first half, leaving freshmen Griffin Roach and Miles Dycaico as the only two Terriers to appear in every contest this season.
  • Sophomore Kari Petursson, freshman Marc Roura, junior Zion Balogun and senior Satchel Cortet have all found the back of the net this season with Petursson, Roura and junior Toti Knutsson tallying a team-high two assists apiece.
  • Junior Michael Stone has started 12 of the 14 games, posting a 0.706 save percentage and 1.69 goals against average with a shutout against Harvard.
  • Opponents are averaging 1.6 more shots per game while posting 61-55 advantage in corners.
SCOUTING #22 NAVY
  • Ranked as high as No. 15 by College Soccer News, the Midshipmen were on a 15-game win streak dating back to last year before recording a 1-1 draw against Army West Point and 2-0 home loss to Lehigh.
  • Navy is a perfect 4-0 on the road with wins at American (4-0), Loyola Maryland (2-0), Longwood (2-1) and Mount St. Mary's.
  • Jacob Williams (7g,3a) owns a team-high 17 points, just three ahead of Nicko West (6g,2a), while Diego Manrique has five assists to help Navy outscore opponents, 24-5.
  • Ian Bramblett has played every minute at net, posting a .844 save percentage and 0.38 goals against average.
  • Navy is averaging just 0.5 more shots per game with opponents having a slight advantage in corners, 55-53.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BU leads the all-time series, 4-2-0, with a 3-0 home record.
  • Last year in Annapolis, the Terriers struck first in the 51st minute, but the Mids rallied with goals in the 71st and 85th minutes for the 2-1 victory.
  • BU claimed back-to-back 1-0 home wins in 2016 and 2017.
