BOSTON – Riding a three-game home win streak, the Boston University men's basketball team will conclude the non-conference schedule by hosting MEAC preseason favorite Bethune-Cookman on Friday night with tip-off set for 7 p.m.

As part of the Season of Giving promotion, there will be a different giveaway at each media timeout.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is 3-1 at home with victories against Nicholls State (75-63), UMass Lowell (79-60) and Emerson (94-57) with the lone loss coming against America East preseason favorite Vermont (78-72).
  • The Terriers have already claimed their first winning non-conference record since posting a 7-6 record in 2015-16 and will now try to finish three games above .500 for the first time since earning a 6-3 mark in 2004-05.
  • Junior Max Mahoney earned his first-career Patriot League Player of the Week honor on Monday after averaging 21.0 ppg last week ... He currently owns a team-high 16.1 ppg and ranks ninth nationally in field goal shooting percentage (.679).
  • As a team, BU ranks in the top 100 in five separate categories, including 61st at 47.9 FG%, 73rd in scoring defense (66.8 ppg) and 52nd in holding opponents to 30.0 3FG%.
  • Freshman Jordan Guest collected BU's second PL Rookie of the Week award on Monday after tallying nine points against Nicholls State ... Both he and previous winner Jack Hemphill are averaging a combined 11.8 ppg and 6.4 rpg off the bench.
  • Junior Tyler Scanlon (13.5 ppg) remains the team leader in rebounds (5.3 rpg), assists (3.4 apg) and steals (1.4 spg).
SCOUTING BETHUNE-COOKMAN
  • BCU was selected as the preseason favorites after posting an 18-14 record last season with a 12-4 conference mark.
  • The Wildcats are 0-7 in road games with single-digit losses at San Jose State (67-65), Cal Poly (80-78 OT) and Miami Florida (78-70) ... They earned all four wins at home against Florida Atlantic (72-70), Stetson (84-74), Johnson University (97-47) and Trinity Baptist (104-44).
  • 5-foot-9 guard Malik Maitland is the only Wildcat to start all 13 games and leads the team in scoring (12.4 ppg), assists (4.1 apg) and steals (1.7 spg).
  • 6-foot-9 forward Cletrell Pope is averaging a double-double at 11.4 ppg and 11.6 rpg wih 1.8 bpg while shooting 63.0 percent from the field.
  • The Wildcats are averaging 72.2 ppg and 42.8 FG% while holding opponents to 74.4 ppg and 42.1 FG%.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Terriers won last year's meeting at BCU, 90-87, in a thrilling matchup that featured 14 ties and 15 lead changes with neither team leading by more than eight.
  • Featuring four Terriers in double figures, BU shot a stellar 64.8 FG% to reach 90 points on the road against a non-conference opponent for the first time since a 96-78 win at Oregon State during the opening round of the 2010 CBI postseason tournament.
  • Eric Johnson ('18) hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 23 seconds remaining and added two free throws on the next possession to claim the win.
  • The 87 points allowed were the most in a regulation win since BU claimed a 90-87 home victory over Vermont on Jan. 15, 1994.
