Women's Soccer Returns Home For Matchup With Marquette

BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team returns to Nickerson Field following a two-game road swing for a Friday night matchup with Marquette. Kickoff is set for for 7 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

Honor Roll

  • Rachel Bloznalis and Hannah Ciolek were each honored by the Patriot League on Monday, as Bloznalis was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while Ciolek earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
  • Bloznalis helped guide the defense to a pair of draws against Arizona State and Arizona, as BU surrendered only one goal on the weekend after facing 36 shots. 
  • Ciolek earned her first career shutout after a 0-0 double overtime contest with the Sun Devils and followed by matching a career high with seven saves against Arizona.
Last Time Out
  • In the series debut, BU earned a 1-1 double overtime draw with Arizona on Sunday to close out the Sun Devil Desert Classic.
  • Christina Wakefield put the Terriers on the board in the 10th minute with her first score of the season.
  • The Wildcats delivered the equalizer in the 76th minute, though the score would hold at 1-1 after 110 minutes.
Senior Spotlight
  • Eight of the 16 points the Terriers have combined for have been contributed by seniors. Wakefield leads the team with three points, Neville and Shreck follow with two points apiece and Alivya Wimmer has chipped in an assist.
  • Neville leads the team with two assists and ranks second in the Patriot League in assists per game.
Setting Points
  • Five out of the six goals the Terriers have recorded this season have come on set pieces. The scores have come on two corner kicks, with Erin Neville picking up an assist on each, one free kick and one penalty kick.

  • The Terriers have dominated on their home turf, posting a 166-37-19 all-time record.
Scouting The Golden Eagles
  • Riding a five-game win streak, Marquette enters Friday's matchup boasting a 5-1-0 record, with all five of its wins coming in the form of a shutout.
