SERIES HISTORY

  • BU leads the all-time series, 6-3, with a 2-3 mark on the road and is 5-1 since joining the PL in the summer of 2013 ... BU won the first meeting in 1996 on a neutral court in FL and then dropped the next two at Loyola in the 2012 BracketBusters and 2013 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tourney.
  • Teams will meet for third time in four years on Martin Luther King Jr. Day ... MLK earned his Ph.D. at BU in 1955 ... BU won both meetings at home, 72-58 (2014) and 87-84 OT (2016).
  • They have gone to OT each of the last two years.
  • In 2015 at home, Loyola pulled out a 91-86 OT win ... The game was one to forget for BU due to 13-of-31 FT (.419) in regulation ... Missed pair of FTs with under a second left to go to OT.
  • Last year, free throws played a role again at BU ... Down by as many as 14 (68-54) at 8:45, BU rallied back and went 1-of-2 FT at both 10s and 3s in regulation to send the game to OT, thanks in part to Loyola missing both FTs at 8s ...
