BOSTON – Coming off a 2-1 win over UMass, the Boston University men's soccer team will conclude a two-game homestand against crosstown rival Northeastern on Tuesday night at Nickerson Field with a 7 p.m. start time. 

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU has scored two goals in each of the first two games and will try to open the season with three-straight multi-goal performances for the first time since 1989 ... The Terriers last tallied at least a combined six goals through the first three games in 2010.
  • Junior and Patriot Leaugue Preseason Midfielder of the Year Anthony Viteri netted his fourth-career game winner at BU against UMass on Saturday after tallying a goal in the season-opening 3-2 loss at then-No. 8 Boston College.
  • Senior and reigning PL Defender of the Year David Asbjornsson became the third different Terrier to score this season, joining Viteri (2) and senior Felix De Bona.
  • Senior Mark Wadid and sophomore T.J. Butzke recorded their first assists of the season on Saturday ... 2015 PL Rookie of the Year Magnus Benediktsson remains the team leader with two helpers.
  • Reigning PL Goalkeeper of the Year and senior Matt Gilbert has played all 180 minutes at net with a .636 save percentage and 2.00 goals against average. 
  • Selected to finish second in the coaches' preseason PL poll, the Terriers are a combined 15-4-3 (.750) at home since posting a 5-4-0 (.556) mark in 2013.
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
  • After going 3-12-2 last season, the Huskies (1-3-0) have a new head coach in Chris Gbandi, who was previously the associate head coach at Dartmouth and an All-American at UConn.
  • The Huskies opened the season with a 2-1 home loss to UMass Lowell before embarking on a four-game road trip ... Northeastern is 1-2 so far with a 1-0 (2OT) win at St. Joseph's and losses at Temple (3-0) and Fairfield (2-1).
  • Khori Bennett, Khesanio Hall and Daniel Arvidsson all have a goal this season ... Midfielder Ackim Mpofu and defender Martin Nygaard were both named to the preseason All-CAA team.
  • Jonathan Thuresson has started all four games and owns a .727 save percentage with 1.66 goals against average. 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Last Meeting - Sept. 16, 2014: BU 2, @ Northeastern 1
    • Dominique Badji ('14) scored the first goal and assisted on junior David Amirani's 69th-minute game winner, 11 minutes after Simon Cox's equalizer.
    • Nick Thomson ('14) had four saves for the victory.
  • The Terriers are 20-7-1 all-time in a rivalry dating back to 1984 ... The two teams are meeting for the third time in four years after last facing off in 2008.
  • BU has won the last two contests, including a 1-0 home win in 2013 ... Two current Terriers played key roles in that victory with Gilbert posting five saves and De Bona tallying the game winner off a 34th-minute header.
