EASTON, Pa. - Paced by a top-15 finish from sophomore
Courtney Breiner, the Boston University women's cross country team competed at the Patriot League Championship on Saturday at Lafayette.
The Terriers finished sixth with a total of 166 points. Bucknell won the title with 23 points.
Breiner completed the 6K race in 22:06.4 to finish 12th. Senior
Michelle Sumner, racing for the first time since helping the Terriers claim the 2014 Patriot League title, finished 32nd with a time of 22:48.9.
Sumner was one of six Terriers to finish in the top 50. Freshman
Abigail Gugel ran well in her conference championship debut, placing 37th (23:02.4). Senior
Hallie Armstrong (23:12.0) and junior Gabrielle Direnzo (23:14.8) were 41st and 45th, respectively, to also score for BU. Junior
Paige Ferrucci (23:18.4) was 45th and senior
Tina Romak (23:51.4) was 57th.
In addition to the Terriers' top seven, sophomore
Elin Wolker (24:23.7), sophomore
Alicia Huerta (24:28.0), senior
Colleen Tretheway (24:58.5), freshman
Ally Schlosser (25:10.9) and freshman
Sabina Yosif (26:09.4) also ran for BU.
The Terriers will next compete on Friday, Nov. 11, at the NCAA Northeast Regional in the Bronx.
