Terriers to Visit Lehigh for Saturday Night Matchup

BOSTON – Riding a two-game win streak, the Boston University men's soccer team will begin a two-game road trip at defending Patriot League champion Lehigh in a critical conference matchup on Saturday with action scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

With four conference games remaining, both teams are currently on the outside looking in for a top-six berth for the upcoming PL tournament with Bucknell (7 pts.) and Lafayette (6 pts.) sitting at No. 5 and 6, respectively. BU's next opponent Holy Cross is also in position to battle for one of the final spots at five points.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • The Terriers are still seeking their first road win of the season with a 0-3-2 record ... They posted draws in conference play at Bucknell (1-1) and Loyola Maryland (3-3).
  • BU is on a three-game unbeaten streak following the tie against the Greyhounds and back-to-back 1-0 shutout victories over Lafayette and Dartmouth.
  • Senior Felix De Bona netted his team-high seventh goal on Tuesday against the Big Green and has now tallied four goals in the last three games on 11 total shot attempts.
  • Freshman Jerry Ozor tallied an assist on De Bona's first-ever golden goal and is currently tied with 2015 PL Rookie of the Year Magnus Benediktsson on the team at four helpers apiece.
  • Junior Anthony Viteri is currently second on the team in points at 12 (5g,2a) ... He was one of a few Terriers, including reigning PL Defender of the Year David Asbjornsson,  who missed the Dartmouth game due to injury.
  • Reigning PL Goalkeeper of the Year and Week Matt Gilbert played the first 64 minutes on Tuesday before having to be replaced by junior Bjorn Kammholz ... The two men have combined for a pair of shutouts.
  • The Terriers own a 1.36 GAA and 0.785 save percentage.  
SCOUTING LEHIGH
  • Lehigh is coming off a two-game road trip in which it won at Fordham (2-1) following a 2-1 loss at Loyola Maryland.
  • The Mountain Hawks are 2-3-1 at home this season with wins over St. Francis (Pa.) and Navy (2-1) ... In their last home game, they fell to Army West Point, 4-1.
  • Lehigh has only scored three goals in the first half but has battled back to outscore opponents in the second half, 11-9.
  • Mark Forrest leads the Mountain Hawks with 13 points (5g, 3a), while Doyle Tuvesson owns eight points off a team-high four assists and two goals.
  • The Mountain Hawks have split time between two goalkeepers ... Jacob Gottwald (2-6-0) owns a 0.729 save percentage and 1.77 goals against average, while Will Smith (3-2-1) sits at 0.778 and 1.14, respectively.

    • Tuvesson assisted on the Mountain Hawks' first goal and scored the golden goal 58 seconds into the first overtime at BU.
    • De Bona tied the game for the Terriers in the 83rd minute.
    • Lehigh finished with an 18-13 advantage in shot attempts.
  • BU is 3-1-0 all-time against the Mountain Hawks.
  • In the last visit to Lehigh in 2014, the Terriers posted a 2-0 win despite being outshot, 25-9, with junior David Amirani also tallying a goal in the win.
