BOSTON - Dartmouth pulled out the doubles point and claimed a split in singles to edge Boston University women's tennis, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at the BU Track & Tennis Center.

With the win, the Big Green improve to 1-1, while the Terriers drop to 2-1. The teams met for the first time since Dartmouth blanked BU, 7-0, in 2012.

In the No. 3 doubles match, sophomores Kim McCallum and Madison Craft blanked their opponent, 6-0. Dartmouth though beat the Terriers in the No. 1 and 2 spots by identical scores of 6-4 to win the doubles point.

During singles action, sophomore Lauren Davis improved to 3-0 in the dual season by rallying from a set down at No. 1 for the 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 victory.

Dartmouth though grabbed a 3-1 lead by beating sophomore Johanna Hyoty at No. 2 singles (6-4, 6-3) and senior Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis at No. 3 (1-6, 6-2, 10-7).

The Terriers tried to rally back with junior Sami Lieb winning at No. 5 in straight sets (6-4, 6-0) and freshman Barbara Rodriguez claiming a 7-6(5), 6-4 victory at No. 5.

The Big Green claimed the final point in the No. 6 spot by defeating Craft, 6-4, 6-1.

BU will next conclude its four-match homestand on Sunday (Feb. 2) at 11 a.m. against Georgetown.
