BU Competes at New England Championship

BOSTON - The Boston University women's cross country team competed at the New England Championship on Saturday at Franklin Park.

The Terriers finished 10th in a 38-team, totaling 314 points. New Hampshire captured the title with 61 points.

Junior Michelle Sumner led BU with a seventh-place performance. She crossed the finish line with a time of 17:56.08 for her third top-10 finish of the season. Sophomore Hallie Armstrong placed 22nd with a time of 18:09.53 while junior Shelby Stableford was 25th (18:12.12).

Also competing for BU was junior Erin Pierce (19:08.07), senior Rosa Moriello (19:19.98), freshman Alexia Zawadzke (19:58.76) and sophomore Colleen Tretheway (20:57.61).

BU will be back in action on Oct. 24 when the Terriers take part in the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet. It will be the final tune-up before BU defends its Patriot League championship on Nov. 1.
