AUSTIN, Texas - Facing its third ranked opponent of the season, the Boston University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at No. 24 Texas on Sunday afternoon.

Sweeping through doubles and singles, the Longhorns improve to 11-9, while the Terriers fall to 9-6.

The Longhorns won all three doubles matches by an identical score of 8-4. Senior Jessi Linero and junior Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis battled at the No. 1 slot and kept the match even midway before the 16th-ranked duo Breaunna Addison and Noel Scott pulled away for the win.

In singles, Texas' No. 41 Aeriel Ellis claimed a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Lauren Davis. Senior Vivien Laszloffy held a 4-2 lead in the first set against No. 50 Breaunna Addison before the Longhorn won the next eight games in the 6-4, 6-0 win.

Sophomore Sami Lieb and Linero won six games each to lead the Terriers at No. 3 and 5 singles. Elizabeth Begley earned a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Lieb, while Linero dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Lina Padegimaite.

With three matches remaining in the season, the Terriers will next visit UConn on Friday (April 12) at 3 p.m.
