BOSTON - Competing for the second consecutive day, the Boston University women's tennis team swept Cleveland State, 7-0, on Monday afternoon at the Track & Tennis Center. The Terriers won all six singles matches in straight sets to improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Vikings fell to 0-2.
Freshman Madison Craft maintained her perfect play at No. 6 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory after blanking her opponent from St. John's a day prior. She earlier in the day teamed with classmate Lauren Davis at No. 1 doubles for an 8-5 win.
Davis dropped just three games in a dominating 6-1, 6-2 performance against Alex Bush in the top singles spot. Junior Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis and senior Jessi Linero teamed together at No. 2 doubles for an 8-2 win and then earned singles points for the Terriers at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
Sophomore Sami Lieb and freshman Kim McCallum completed the sweep by working together for an 8-7 win at No. 3 doubles and then dropping a combined nine games in singles wins at No. 2 and 5, respectively.
The Terriers will conclude their three-match homestand on Sunday (Jan. 27) against America East foe Binghamton with action set to begin at 10 a.m.
