MADISON, Conn. - The Boston University women's cross country team finished 18th at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday afternoon at Hammonassett State Park.
Junior Monica Adler paced the Terriers with a 41st-place finish, as she crossed the finish line with a time of 20:59.1. Friday's finish concluded a successful cross country debut for Adler, who had two top-five finishes, including a victory at the New England Championships.
Danielle Bowen was the next Terrier to complete the 6K course, as the junior harrier placed 88th (21:52.1). Senior Nikki Long turned in a time of 22:08.0, while sophomore Ashli Tagoai (23:02.9) and freshman Shelby Stableford (23:16.2) rounded out the Terriers' top five.
Two other freshmen also made their debut at the Northeast Regional, as Michelle Sumner (23:30.6) and Erin Pierce (24:10.3) were part of the BU contingent. The Terriers concluded their 2012 cross country season with four top-10 finishes, including a seventh-place showing at the New England Championships.
