PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Boston University men's basketball team saw its four-game win streak snapped against Saint Joseph's, as the Hawks pulled out a 75-68 victory on Wednesday night at Hagan Arena.

Senior Darryl Partin led the Terriers (4-5) with a team-high 24 points, while sophomore D.J. Irving recorded 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Travis Robinson was the third player in double figures with all 12 of his points coming in the second half. Senior Patrick Hazel and sophomore Dom Morris combined for 16 rebounds to help BU win the battle at the boards, 42-26.

Improving to 3-0 at home, the Hawks (6-3) shot 50 percent from the field with sophomore Langston Galloway leading all players with 30 points. Remaining first in the nation in blocks, sophomore C.J. Aiken had five blocks along with five points and five rebounds. Junior Carl Jones added 13 points with five assists and three steals.

Trailing 64-49 with 8:34 remaining, the Terriers rallied to cut the deficit to five (66-61) over the following four minutes with four individuals scoring. After Irving's layup for the 12-2 run, BU stopped SJU on the next two possessions and could have potentially pulled within one but missed back-to-back field goal attempts.

After the second miss, Galloway prevented the Terriers from moving any closer with a 3-pointer at 2:11 and two made free throws at 1:03 to give the Hawks a 71-61 lead. SJU would then hit four attempts at the charity stripe in the final minute to hold on for the victory.

The teams battled back and forth in the first half with the lead changing eight times. Scoring 15 first-half points, Partin gave BU a 23-21 advantage with 7:46 remaining. SJU though responded with six straight points to take the lead for good.

After Morris' layup pulled the Terriers within two (30-28) at 3:45, the Hawks reeled off 10 straight points to enter the locker room ahead, 40-28. SJU shot 53.8 percent in the first half and enticed BU into 10 turnovers while only losing the ball five times.

The Terriers cut the deficit to seven (49-42) after two made free throws by Irving with 12:36 remaining in the second half, but the Hawks extended their lead to 15 at 9:03 and 8:34 on baskets by Jones and Chris Wilson, respectively.

Jones added another jumper at 6:23 to give SJU the 66-54 lead, but then Irving hit a 3-pointer to ignite a 7-0 spurt. Facing at least a seven-point deficit for the fifth straight game, the Terriers tried to rally to extend the win streak but came up just short.

BU finished the game 22-of-59 (.373) and 7-of-19 (.368) from behind the arc while shooting 17-of-22 (.773) at the free throw line. The Terriers had 14 turnovers against the Hawks' nine, as SJU scored 18 points off BU's miscues.

Returning home to play their first game at Agganis Arena, the Terriers will next host No. 24 Harvard on Saturday (Dec. 10) with NESN starting the live broadcast at 4 p.m.
