CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Featuring four ranked singles players and two ranked doubles squads, No. 11 Miami swept the Boston University women's tennis team, 4-0, in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. With the win, the Hurricanes improve to 18-5, while the Terriers end their season at 11-12.
Miami captured the doubles point with identical 8-1 victories at No. 1 and 3 before capturing the team victory with singles wins at No. 2, 4 and 5.
Freshman and first-team All-America East honoree Jessi Linero led BU in games won with six total. After dropping the first set at No. 6, she led the second set, 3-0, before the match was called due to the Hurricanes already earning the required fourth point.
