BOSTON – Coming off a hard-fought nine-point home win over Loyola Maryland, the Boston University men's basketball team will open a two-game road trip at Lehigh on Saturday afternoon with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.

The Terriers are currently sitting alone in second place in the PL standings at 8-3, two games behind Bucknell and one ahead of Colgate with seven contests remaining. Lehigh is currently in a three-way tie for seventh (4-7) after posting a 71-67 win at Holy Cross this past Monday.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU is 7-5 on the road this season to surpass last year's six-win total (6-9) ... The Terriers' most road wins in a season under head coach Joe Jones is 11 set back in 2013-14 at 11-4.
The Terriers have won their last three road contests, posting wins at Holy Cross (54-40), Navy (75-68) and Lafayette (75-72) ... In the last meeting with the Leopards, BU trailed by as many as 16 points before rallying for the victory.
Leading scorer and senior Cedric Hankerson (13.7 ppg) has missed the last three games due to injury ... Sophomore Max Mahoney (12.7 ppg) stepped up Wednesday with 27 points on 12-of-14 shooting in just 20 minutes of action, while senior Nick Havener (7.7 ppg) had a career-high 21 points at Lafayette.
Claiming his second double-double last Sunday against Bucknell (14 pts., 10 rebs.), freshman Walter Whyte is averaging 10.0 ppg and 6.4 rpg in conference play, while sophomore Tyler Scanlon is averaging 12.5 ppg and a team-high 7.4 rpg.
In the last three wins, senior Eric Johnson (3.4 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.8 apg) has increased his season averages to 5.0 ppg, 4.5 apg and 4.5 rpg, highlighted by eight points and five rebounds at Navy ... This past Wednesday in his first start of the year, he had five points, four rebounds and four assists.
In total, 11 Terriers have reached double figures in scoring this season ... The Terriers are averaging 71.3 ppg on the road while shooting an impressive 47.2 FG% with opponents averaging 72.2 ppg and 44.8 FG%.

SCOUTING LEHIGH

The Mountain Hawks are 5-5 at home compared to their 4-8 road mark with wins over Siena (91-90 OT), Mount St. Mary's (75-60), Holy Cross (83-77) and American (76-66) ... They have lost their last three contests at Stabler Arena though to Colgate (76-72), Loyola Maryland (91-88 2OT) and Navy (77-75) by a combined nine points.
Lance Tejada is one of four Mountain Hawks averaging double figures at a team-high 15.7 ppg.
Kahron Ross (11.7 ppg) ranks third in the PL in assists at 4.6 apg, while Pat Andree (11.7 ppg) and Kyle Leufroy (10.6 ppg) are averaging a combined 10.8 rpg ... James Karnik (7.3 ppg) owns a team-high 6.1 rpg.
Lehigh ranks 119th nationally in scoring offense at 76.0 ppg but is allowing 78.8 ppg, 314th worst.
The Mountain Hawks rank 22nd in free throw percentage (76.9 ppg) and 25th in 3-point field goal percentage (39.8).

SERIES HISTORY

The Terriers lead the all-time series, 7-4, after avenging last year's 2OT PL semifinal defeat (91-88) with a 92-81 home win back on Jan. 8.
After BU won the first-ever meeting back in 1968, the teams split in each of BU's first three years in the PL until BU claimed its first-ever reg. season sweep in 2017.
In the Jan. 8 win, BU shot 60.0 FG% in the first half and finished on 36-11 run for a 49-24 halftime lead ... Lehigh hit 12 3-pointers in the 2nd half to pull within nine (88-79) with a minute left, but Tyler Scanlon had 17 2nd half points to seal the win.
In BU's last visit to Lehigh, the Terriers posted a 76-59 win with Eric Fanning ('17) tallying 27 pts. ... Mountain Hawks last won at home, 81-73, on Jan. 2, 2016 with Tim Kempton (22 pts.) and Kyle Leufroy (20 pts.) leading the way.
