
Gianino, Tyburczy Earn All-ECAC Honors

DANBURY, Conn. – Boston University women's soccer seniors Giulianna Gianino and Helene Tyburczy were named to the ECAC Division I All-ECAC First Team, the organization announced on Friday morning.
To be eligible for All-ECAC honors, student-athletes in the region must have earned a first team spot in their respective conferences. Those who won conference major awards were also eligible for ECAC major awards.
The duo each earn their first All-ECAC honors in their careers and are the first Terriers to receive recognition since Jenna Oldham's second team accolade in 2022. BU was one of two schools (Fairfield) to have multiple selections on the All-ECAC First Team this season.
Gianino, the 2025 Patriot League Midfielder and Scholar-Athlete of the Year, concluded her senior year as the NCAA statistical champion in with 0.79 assists per game. The Norwell, Mass. native recorded seven goals and 15 assists this year, the latter shattering BU's single-season record and finishing as the third-most for a Patriot League student-athlete in a single season.
Gianino concluded her Terrier career with 25 goals and 25 assists for 75 career points, good for seventh, tied for first and fifth in program history, respectively.
Tyburczy was chosen as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in 2025. The center back helped guide a Terrier defense that posted 10 shutouts while allowing just five goals across 10 home matches. She helped BU finish the season on a six-game shutout streak while also scoring two goals on the year.
In two seasons on Commonwealth Ave., Tyburczy has registered two goals and two assists in nearly 3,400 minutes, starting 37 of her 40 appearances.
