Jennifer Callen Beveridge

Callen Beveridge joins the BU coaching staff after having previously been the Head Coach of Women's tennis at both the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at Dartmouth College, as well as an assistant coach at Harvard University.  She also spent three years on the WTA tour after graduating from the University of Virginia.

As head coach at Carolina from 2001 to 2003, Callen’s teams went 44-14 overall (13-3 ACC), won the ACC Championship in 2002 and were ranked as high as No. 5 in the country in 2003.  Prior to Carolina, Jen was the head coach at Dartmouth College (1999 to 2001), and the assistant coach at Harvard (1998-1999), during which time the Crimson won back-to-back Ivy League championships.

Callen Beveridge is a 1994 graduate of UVA, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and was a standout tennis player.  She was named first-team All-ACC all four years, was the #1 singles player as a sophomore, junior and senior, and was ranked top 20 in NCAA Division 1 women's tennis. Callen was also named the Senior Player of the Year in the NCAA East Region in her final year at UVA and was a finalist for the Gladys Heldman Award, which is given annually to the nation's top senior based on athletic, academic, sportsmanship, and community service accomplishments. Most recently, Callen was named to the ACC’s 50th Anniversary tennis team having had one of the best records in UVA history for singles wins. 

After graduating from Virginia, Callen competed as a professional tennis player for over three years from June 1994-August 1997. She competed worldwide on the Women's Tennis Association tour, attaining high ranks of #450 in singles and #505 in doubles. She also won a professional doubles tournament in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. 

Callen Beveridge was a member of the USTA Committee for Advanced Junior Tennis (1997 to 2000) and co-director at the Nike Tennis Camps at Dartmouth and UNC Chapel Hill.  She was associate director of the Tennis Camps at Harvard in 1998 and 1999, was named the USTA/NE Intersectional Coach for the Girls 18 division in 1998 and served on the USPTA New England Board.

In 2010, Callen founded Callen Tennis, LLC which provides tennis instruction throughout her local community.  Jen resides in Concord, MA with her husband and two teenage children.Â
