PRINCETON, N.J. – Despite grabbing a first-half lead on sophomore Magnus Benediktsson's first-career goal, the Boston University men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Princeton Friday evening on ESPNU. Coming off Tuesday's 3-1 win over No. 22 Rider, the Tigers' Benjamin Martin led the rally by assisting on the 35th-minute equalizer and scoring the game winner in the 56th minute.

HOW IT HAPPENED

BU scored first in the 32^nd minute when sophomore Magnus Benediktsson flicked in a cross from junior Anthony Viteri.
Princeton tied the game at 34:30 when Mark Romanowski sent a long pass toward the box for a header from Benjamin Martin and goal from Vikram Pothuri.
TURNING POINT: The Tigers went ahead, 2-1, after Martin got around senior keeper Matt Gilbert while still maintaining possession and sent the ball into the empty net at 55:18.
Freshman Matt McDonnell fired the final shot of the contest in the last minute from outside the box, but Josh Haberman was in position for his fourth save and the victory.

GAME NOTES

The Terriers made their first-ever appearance on ESPNU.
Princeton improved to 2-0-1 all-time against BU after back-to-back 2-1 home victories.
Viteri (3g,1a) now leads BU in points with seven with Benediktsson (4a,1g) close behind at six.
The Tigers prevented BU from opening a season with four consecutive multi-goal performances for the first time since 1961.
BU owned 15-6 advantage in shot attempts but was limited to just five in the second half.
Gilbert finished with two saves.

Terriers will return home and face their second consecutive Ivy League opponent in Brown on Tuesday (Sept. 20) at 7 p.m.
The Bears lead, 23-14-4, in the rivalry.
