BOSTON - The Boston University golf team volunteered at the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk” Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade.
Members of the team took on various responsibilities at the event which raises more than $3 million each year with over 40,000 walkers participating annually. The Terriers were responsible for registering participants, handing out forms, directing walkers and tracking donations brought in on the day of the vent.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the nation's oldest and largest one-day fundraiser. Organizers of the Walk said their goal is to bring the community together to support women who have had breast cancer, to emphasize the importance of early detection and to raise $3 million at the walk, which goes towards breast cancer research in the Boston area.
