Jill Cardella has served on Boston University Athletics' senior staff since July 2021 and was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Capital Planning & Facilities Operations in 2024.
With her current role, she oversees all home events, deferred maintenance of all Athletics facilities, customer service and visiting team needs, as well as championship competitions and banquets. Cardella moved into her leadership role in 2021 as an Assistant Athletic Director.
In September 2015, Cardella was promoted to Assistant Facilities Manager and later Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities and Event Operations after joining the Boston University Department of Athletics in August 2013 as an Administrative Assistant for Facilities.
Cardella's previous responsibilities included scheduling and billing for several athletic facilities, scheduling all gyms, fields, vans and facilities for varsity team practices and games, and administrative support for softball and women's golf.
A four-year letter winner for the BU women's ice hockey team, Cardella played in a program-record 151 career games and never missed a game during her collegiate career. She was a co-captain during the 2012-13 season and helped guide the Terriers to their second NCAA title game appearance in three years.
Cardella played in four NCAA tournaments, two Frozen Fours and helped BU win three Hockey East tournaments, including back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013. As a senior in 2012-13, she set career highs in assists (22) and points (24) and won the Hockey East Sportsmanship Award.
The Rochester, N.Y., native graduated in May 2013 with a bachelor's degree in advertising from the College of Communication and a master's degree in administrative studies in 2015.
