WHEA All-Stars

Bach, Hanson, Parker Named WHEA All-Stars

March 3, 2017

BOSTON - Junior Victoria Bach, senior Victoria Hanson and graduate student Mary Parker of the Boston University women's ice hockey team were all named Hockey East All-Stars, the league announced at its annual awards banquet on Friday night.

Bach and Hanson were selected as First Team All-Stars while Parker garnered second-team honors. BU was one of two schools to boast a pair of first-team choices and Bach was one of two unanimous selections to the squad.

The 2016-17 season was Bach's best yet, as she finished the regular season as the league leader in scoring thanks to 22 goals and a league-high 25 assists for 47 points, six clear of the next closest skater. Her 22 goals ranked third in the conference and she averaged a league-high 1.47 points per game. Bach's influence went beyond just scoring goals, as she generated 5.06 shots on goal per game, which was first in the conference. Bach had a point in 24 different games and led the league with two hat tricks.

Hanson is the first Terrier netminder since Allyse Wilcox ('09) in 2008 to be named a First Team All-Star. She finished the regular season with a .930 save percentage and a 2.31 goals-against average in 24 starts en route to a 13-7-4 record. Her play in the final month of the season helped separate her from her peers in Hockey East. With the Terriers fighting for home ice in the playoffs, Hanson went 4-0-0 in the last four games, posting a league-high .945 save percentage and a conference-low 1.75 goals-against average.

Parker was tremendous in her first season in Hockey East. She led the league with 23 goals and finished second behind Bach with 41 points thanks to 18 assists. Nobody in the conference had a goal or a point in more games than Parker, who lit the lamp in 18 different games and had a point on 25 different occasions. Parker's goals were usually important, as she led Hockey East with 13 goals while the game was tied.

BU will continue its quest for a sixth Hockey East title on Saturday when the Terriers host Northeastern at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is set for 4:30 p.m.
