LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Boston University women's swimming & diving team recorded six top-eight finishes on the final day of the Patriot League Championships at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium. The Terriers finished fourth overall with 515 points, just 22.5 shy of runner-up Army, as junior
Kyra Tatlow was named PL Diver of the Meet.
Navy defended its crown with 868.5 points, well ahead of the Black Knights and No. 3 Lehigh (528). No. 5 Bucknell (502), No. 6 Loyola (205), No. 7 Colgate (172), No. 8 American (159), No. 9 Holy Cross (96) and No. 10 Lafayette (82) rounded out the list.
Tatlow's honor marks the second for the Terriers after junior
Lizzie Tillo was tabbed Diver of the Meet in 2015. Tatlow was the first diver in the PL to sweep both the 1-meter and 3-meter titles since Colgate's Kim Pilka accomplished the feat in 2011. She was also named the Turnpike Trophy MVP, as BU claimed a point in the all-sports competition with Holy Cross by finishing ahead of the Crusaders in the team standings.
During Saturday night's finals, senior
Sarah Hargrave led off the night with a third-place finish in the 1650 free at 16:42.95 with junior
Grace Anderson placing fourth at 16:49.78. BU had an identical 3-4 finish in the 200 breast with sophomore
Erin Nabney posting a time of 2:19.35 with freshman
Carly Soares less than a second behind her.
Junior
Hannah Katz was the fifth Terrier to reach an A Final and placed seventh in the 200 fly at 2:04.39. Sophomore
Julimar Avila just missed out in the 100 free but won the B Final with a time of 50.91 for a ninth-place finish overall.
Avila and Nabney finished the night for the Terriers with senior
Lauren Dixon and freshman
Meghan Egan by placing fifth in the 400 free relay at 3:24.70.
