BOSTON - The Boston University women's track & field team continued its indoor season when it hosted the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

•           The women's team had several impressive performers on Friday including reigning Patriot League Indoor Track Athlete of the Year Toria Levy who established personal bests in the 400m dash and tied her personal best in the 60m hurdles. The senior finished second in the 400m dash with a time of 54.49 and finished third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.62.
•           On the distance side, Courtney Breiner established a personal best in the 800m run with a time of 2:10.21 to finish eighth in a field of 143 runners while Tina Romak established a new personal best in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:07.70.
•           In the field, Lovie Burleson established a new personal best in the long jump with a 5.93m (19-05.50) leap to finish third. Burleson also finished eighth in the triple jump with a 12.06m (39-07.00) effort.

NEXT UP

The Boston University men's track and field team will compete in Day 2 of the David Hemery Valentines Invite on Saturday beginning with the long jump competition at 10:30 am. The women's team will finish their portion of the meet with the women's distance medley at 10:30 a.m.
After this weekend's competition, the Terriers will next host the Patriot League Championships beginning on Friday, Feb. 17 through Sunday.
