The Boston University women's ice hockey team will host No. 3 Boston College on Saturday afternoon at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m.

CLOSE PROXIMITY, CLOSE GAMES

BU and BC have played some close games of late.
Six of the last seven meetings between the B-line rivals have been decided by two goals or fewer.
The last time these two teams skated at Walter Brown, BU scored five times in the third period to earn a 5-3 victory over the Eagles on Nov. 5.

HISTORY WITH THE EAGLES

Saturday is the 49th all-time meeting between BU and BC.
The Terriers are 17-25-6 all-time against the Eagles, including a 7-11-2 record at Walter Brown Arena.
The teams split last year's Hockey East series, with both squads earning a 5-3 home victory before settling for a 1-1 tie at BC on Jan. 7.
BC escaped with a 3-2 win in the opening round of last year's Beanpot to take the overall 2016-17 series.

BEST OF BU AGAINST BC

Nina Rodgers leads all current Terriers with four goals against the Eagles in addition to an assist for five points.
Rebecca Leslie is tied with Rodgers with five points thanks to a team-best five assists.
Victoria Bach has notched two goals and two assists while Deziray De Sousa (1g, 1a) has also recorded multiple points against BC.
Natasza Tarnowski and Abby Cook each recorded a helper last year as freshmen against the Eagles.
Erin O'Neil made 34 saves in last year's win over BC and went 1-1-0 against the Eagles last year.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE EAGLES

BU scored twice in the second period to take a 2-1 lead, but BC scored two goals in the final 20 minutes to earn a 3-2 win in the opening round of last season's Beanpot on Jan. 31, 2017.
Nina Rodgers lit the lamp in that game while Sammy Davis and Victoria Bach each added an assist.

EYEING THE EAGLES

BC is 4-0-1 this season, most recently skating away from Vermont with a 4-2 victory on Sunday after settling for a 2-2 tie at UConn earlier that weekend.
Freshman Daryl Watts enters the weekend tied for the NCAA lead with 14 points thanks to six goals and eight assists through five games.
Watts is tied for the league lead in both goals and assists, with teammate Caitrin Lonergan also entering the weekend with six goals.
Senior goaltender Katie Burt has started all five games for BC, posting a .929 save percentage and a 1.97 goals-against average.

NEXT UP

After the Terriers face BC on Saturday, it will be a quick turnaround as they will travel to New Hampshire on Sunday.
The Wildcats will host Maine on Saturday in their second of three games in five days.
UNH suffered a 4-1 setback at Northeastern on Wednesday night.
That was the Wildcats' first loss of the season, as they had started the 2017-18 campaign with a 4-0-1 mark.
