NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - Junior Victoria Bach scored her 17th goal of the season, but the Boston University women's ice hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision at Merrimack on Saturday night at Lawler Rink.

GOAL-BY-GOAL

Merrimack struck first at the 5:31 mark of the opening frame.
Bach answered with a power-play goal with 5:22 to play in the first period. Senior Samantha Sutherland cycled the puck to classmate Maddie Elia below the goal line. Elia used a slick behind-the-back pass to find Bach in front, and the junior calmly finished for her 17th goal of the season.
Mikyla Grant-Mentis completed a hat trick with a pair of goals just 10 seconds apart midway through the second period to give Merrimack a 3-1 lead.
The Terriers pulled senior goaltender Victoria Hanson (28 saves) late in the third with a power-play chance to create a 6-on-4 advantage, but Merrimack scored an empty-netter to create the 4-1 final.

GAME NOTES

Bach extended her point streak to three games with her goal.
Sutherland also moved her point streak to three games thanks to her helper.
Elia had an assist in her first game since Jan. 7 and is now four points from 100 for her career.
The Terriers outshot Merrimack, 37-32.
