
Lachapelle Claims Third Straight World Under-18 Gold

ZLIN, Czech Republic - Boston University women's ice hockey assistant coach Katie Lachapelle won her third straight gold medal as an assistant coach with the United States Women's National Under-18 Team at the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship on Saturday.
Lachapelle and the USA defeated Canada, 3-1, in the gold-medal game. Future Terrier Jesse Compher also won gold with USA, as did Terrier strength and conditioning coach Jill Zeller. Compher recorded an assist in five games and was a plus-4 during the tournament.
In her four years as an assistant with Team USA, Lachapelle has won three gold medals and a silver medal. She coached current Terriers Erin O'Neil, Nina Rodgers and Sammy Davis to medals, with Compher set to join the squad next year.
Compher was not the only future Terrier to win a medal on Saturday. Nara Elia and Corrine Schroeder claimed silver with Team Canada. Elia also recorded an assist over five games, while Schroeder was one of three goaltenders for Team Canada.
