This summer, GoTerriers.com will once again count down the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Tuesday and Friday as we reveal this year's Terrier Twelve.
Â
Coming in at No. 10 on this year's Terrier 12 is
Adela Cejnarova of the golf team. The junior turned in another record-breaking performance en route to claiming her second straight Patriot League individual title.
Â
Cejnarova's accomplishment was especially impressive given that she had her tonsils removed just two weeks prior to the conference tournament. If there was any lingering discomfort, it certainly did not show as the Prague, Czech Republic, native went wire-to-wire to capture the title.
Â
She began the two-day, 54-hole event with an opening-round 72. After a 76 to close out Saturday, she rebounded for another 72 to clear the field by seven strokes. She broke her own conference record by three shots with a total score of 219. Her final-round 72 helped the Terriers to a Sunday total of 299, the low round of the weekend, which secured second place in the team standings. Cejnarova was one of four Terriers to shoot 76 or better on Sunday to spark the Terriers' comeback bid.
Â
In addition to Cejnarova's accomplishments, senior
Emily Tillo also had an outstanding year. She became the first person in conference history to become a three-time Patriot League Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Tillo was also tabbed as the University's Woman of the Year and earned the Patriot League Sportsmanship Award to round out her impressive collegiate career.
