- Will Lockwood opened the scoring 10:04 into the game and Tony Calderone scored his first of two tallies just 37 seconds later.
- After a scoreless middle period in which the Terriers held a 15-3 advantage in shots, Michigan prevented BU from grabbing any momentum when Jake Slaker backhanded the puck to the top of the net at 6:17 of the third.
- The Terriers pulled goaltender Jake Oettinger in favor of an extra attacker with 5:15 remaining in regulation but Calderone sent home an empty-netter from the blue line to create the 4-0 final.
- Oettinger made 17 saves for the Terriers while fellow freshman Hayden Levigne stopped all 30 BU shots to earn his second career shutout.
