Doyle Somerby potted the winner with 2:54 left in regulation after Danny O'Regan and Robbie Baillargeon scored just 12 seconds apart. The Wolverines earned the split the following night, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first period en route to a 4-2 win.
Michigan, the defending Big Ten champion, is coming off a 4-1 road victory over Arizona State last Friday, rebounding from road losses at Vermont and Dartmouth. The Wolverines are 2-1-1 at home thus far this fall.
Freshman Will Lockwood has impressed in the early stages, leading the team in both points (8) and goals (5). Classmate Jake Slaker is right behind with seven points on three goals and four assists. Junior blueliner Sam Piazza (3g, 3a) and senior Alex Kile (2g, 5a) have each contributed six points.
