EUGENE, Ore. - Boston University freshman Katie Matthews finished third in the 5,000-meter run on Saturday at the USA Track & Field Junior Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field. Matthews posted a time of 17:28.35 in the event.

Aisling Cuffe won the event in 16:43.58. Matthews was the top finisher attached to a university in a field of 15.
