Barwise Posts Top-10 Finish at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Allison Barwise of the Boston University women's track & field team competed at the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field.

Barwise finished sixth in the high jump with a mark of 1.83 meters. She had clean jumps at 1.77m, 1.80m and 1.83m before missing at 1.86 meters. She will earn her first-ever USTFCCCA First-Team All-America selection during the outdoor season thanks to her top-eight finish.

Saturday's performance is the conclusion of a stellar collegiate career for Barwise, who set three school records in 2014. She achieved a record height of 1.89 meters in the high jump at the Patriot League Championships while also setting school standards in the javelin (44.38m) and the heptathlon (5628) at the conference meet en route to being named Patriot League Field Athlete of the Meet.

The Orange, Connecticut, native was selected as the USTFCCCA Northeast Regional Field Athlete of the Year after she had a mark of 1.84 meters or higher in five different competitions this season. In addition, Barwise was selected as Patriot League Women's Outdoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
