Kicking off the top half of The Terrier Twelve is the women's tennis team's 15th straight America East Conference tournament title and 10th consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament.

Led by 2008 America East Player of the Year Francine Whu, BU continued to roll through conference play this past year. The Terriers defeated both UMBC and Stony Brook 6-1 in the regular season before entering the conference tournament as the No. 1 seed for the ninth consecutive year and swept Stony Brook 4-0 before handing Binghamton a 4-2 defeat in the championship. The Terriers are 28-0 in the America East Championship - they have never lost a match as a team.

In the NCAA tournament, BU drew No. 4 Stanford, meeting the Cardinal for the second time in the national draw.

Whu claimed two singles match wins at first singles and earned one victory at first doubles to receive Most Outstanding Performer honors. The sophomore had a 15-12 overall singles record, playing the entire season at No. 1 one season after playing in the fourth spot en route to conference Player of the Year recognition.

Freshman Vanessa Steiner, junior Cori Lefkowith, sophomore Elizabeth Corrao and junior Danielle Abraham joined Whu on the 2008 All-America East First Team. Junior Yana Sadovskaya garnered second-team honors. Doubles partners Whu and Steiner and Abraham and Lefkowith each made the second team for doubles. BU athletes received six of the 12 possible singles all-conference spots.
