Women's Tennis Draws No. 8 USC in NCAA First Round

BOSTON – After earning its 14th straight America East title, the Boston University women's tennis team will travel to Los Angeles for an NCAA first-round match against eighth-seeded USC on Saturday, May 12, as announced by the NCAA on Tuesday. Also joining the Terriers and Trojans at Marks Stadium will be Texas and UC Irvine.

BU (13-5) and USC (17-4) are set to face off at noon on May 12, after the 9:00 a.m. match between Texas and UC Irvine. The two winners will play in the second round on May 13 at 1:00 p.m.

The Terriers earned an automatic bid by winning the conference title with a 4-0 victory over UMBC and will be making their ninth NCAA appearance. USC earned an at-large bid to the tournament after finishing second to Stanford in the Pac-10 standings.

The 64-team field will play first- and second-round matches on May 12-13 at 16 campus sites around the country, with the winners advancing the Round of 16 at the University of Georgia beginning on May 18.
