Women's Tennis to Face #4 Stanford in NCAA Opener

BOSTON - With their 15th consecutive America East title secured, the Boston University women's tennis team will square off against fourth-seeded Stanford in an NCAA first-round matchup on Friday, May 9 in Stanford, Calif. Joining the Terriers (11-7) and Cardinals (19-4) at Taube Family Tennis Stadium will be Texas A&M (16-8) and Washington (12-9). Match times have not yet been released.

The Terriers earned an automatic bid by winning the America East championship with a 4-2 win over Binghamton and will be making their 10th straight trip to the NCAA tournament. Stanford enters the tournament having earned a share of the conference title after ending the season tied for first in the Pac-10 with UCLA. All six members of the Cardinal's singles lineup are nationally-ranked, including freshman Hilary Barte who is No. 3.

The 64-team field will play first- and second-round matches on May 9-10 at 16 different campus sites across the country. Winners will advance to the Round of 16 at the University of Tulsa starting on May 15.
