The Terriers' women's tennis team rolled to its second straight 5-1 win on Tuesday as they defeated Providence College in a home match. This marked the team's final tuneup before this weekend's America East Tournament action.

B.U., which defeated Syracuse 5-1 on Sunday afternoon, improved its record this spring to 5-7 and to 10-9 including the fall season with the impressive victory over Providence College. Prior to this two-match winning streak, the Terriers had lost six in a row.

The most exciting match came at number one singles where junior Selin Nassi (Miami, FL) posted a 7-6, 12-10 win. In the second-set tie breaker, she won, 6-0.

From numbers three through six, the Terriers had easy straight-set victories.

At number three, Christina Causway (Wilson, NC) rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win. Carrie Rose (Bloomfield Hills, MI), at number four and Christy Cerretani (Reading, Ma) at number six also gave their opponents just one game in the two set. Rose won, 6-0, 6-1, while Cerretani disposed of her opponent, 6-0, 6-1. Karen Shostakovsky (Atlanta, GA) enjoyed a 6-1, 6-1 win at number five.

The Terriers' lone loss was at number two singles where Jennifer Momii bowed, 3-6, 4-6.

Since the Terriers had the match wrapped up after the singles play, there were no doubles matches.
