PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Highlighted by four Terriers earning at least two wins in singles action, the Boston University women's tennis team opened the 2013-14 season at the Brown Invitational. Participating teams included the host Bears, UMass, Boston College, Buffalo and Rutgers.

In the top singles flight, sophomore Lauren Davis rebounded from an opening-round loss to BC's Jessica Wacnik with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Sonia Bokhari. She won the consolation bracket with an 8-2 win over Brown's Mariska Chamdani.

Like Davis, junior Sami Lieb also suffered an opening-round loss but bounced back to win the consolation bracket in the Red Flight with victories over Providence's Karen Ramirez and Boston College's Heini Salonen.

Freshman Barbara Rodriguez had an impressive weekend, capturing the Gold Flight title with wins over competitors from Buffalo, Brown and Boston College. She also earned two wins in the top doubles flight with Hyoty.

Senior Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis was the fourth Terrier to collect two singles wins. She lost a super tiebreaker in the first contest and came back with victories over two women from Providence.
