WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Despite junior Vivien Laszloffy earning her first win of the season over a ranked opponent, the Boston University women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at William & Mary on Saturday afternoon.

Improving to 6-15 on its Senior Day, the Tribe captured the doubles point by splitting up the No. 24 ranked pair of Maria Belaya and Jeltje Loomans for two wins. W&M followed up by capturing four of the six singles matches for the team win.

Laszloffy's victory at the top singles slot highlighted another a tough day for the Terriers (6-12), as they were unable to capture a tiebreaker at No. 2 and the third set at No. 3. She put on her best performance of the season by knocking off No. 118 Belaya, 6-2, 6-3.

After teaming with Laszloffy for a win at No. 3 doubles, Senior Petra Santini earned BU's other point with a 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 victory against Hope Johnson at No. 4.

Junior Jessi Linero won her first set, but Nina Vulovich rallied to pull out a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3. In the No. 2 contest, Loomans won the first set tiebreaker over senior Monika Mical en route to a 7-6(7), 6-1 victory.

The Terriers will remain in Virginia and next face No. 42 VCU on Sunday (April 15) at 10 a.m.
