NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Facing its third straight ranked opponent, the Boston University women's tennis team fell at No. 34 Yale, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (3-2) entered the contest with a ranked doubles team and two ranked singles players. They won the first two doubles matches for the first point and then claimed all six singles points in straight sets for the team win.

Sophomore Lauren Davis and freshman Barbara Rodriguez led the Terriers (3-4) in doubles by winning three games against the No. 43 ranked duo of Sherry Li and Madeleine Hamilton in a 6-3 loss.

In singles, junior Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis battled No. 102 Annie Sullivan to a near-upset but came up just short in a 7-6(5), 6-4 defeat.

Freshman Iris Lin almost rallied to force a third set but Courtney Amos got the needed break point to pull out a 6-1, 7-5 decision.

The Terriers will return to action on Thursday (Feb. 20) when they host Holy Cross at 3 p.m.
