The Boston University swimming and diving team continued its stronghold on the America East weekly swimming and diving awards as Kirsten Tullis, Melinda Matyas and Tanner Knorr were honored this week by the America East Conference. Tullis earned the female Swimmer of the Week, while Matyas and Knorr claimed female and male Divers of the Week.
Tullis posted two individual wins and one relay victory to help the Terriers defeat Central Connecticut State. Tullis swam the third leg of the 200 medley relay that touched first in a time of 1:47.08. She then won the 100 free with a time of 51.84, placing her in second in the conference standings. In the 100 breast, Tullis won with a time of 1:05.09. Although the time was exhibitioned, the time puts Tullis in second in the America East standings.
Sweeping the diving events for a fifth-straight week, Matyas earns her fifth-straight weekly honor. Matyas led a Terrier sweep of both boards, winning the one-meter with a score of 245.20 and the three-meter with a score of 254.15. Matyas continues to top the conference standings in both events.
Knorr placed third in both diving events, competing against a strong Texas A&M diving squad. Knorr placed third on the one-meter with a score of 271.10 and third on the three-meter with a score of 259.75.
