AMHERST, Mass. - The BU men's and women's swimming and diving teams each lost in a dual meet at the University of Massaschusetts Saturday afternoon. The women fell 141-100, while the men dropped a 141-97 decision in the meet held at the Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. Pool.

Christina Ruggiero set the pace for the women, as she won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:39.96, 12 seconds better than the Minutmen's Taryn Prout. Ruggeiro also won the 500-yard free in 5:12.51, almost four seconds faster than her nearest competitor. Lidija Breznikar won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:25.31 to round out the victories for the BU women.

Michael Bear captured the 1000-yard free for the men with a time of 10:04.46, while Brian Lawler, last week's America East Diver of the Week, won the one-meter dive with 284.77 points and finished third in the three-meter dive (254.33). Griffin Moodie was the other Terrier to finish first on the day, as he won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:17.87.
