BOSTON - The 13 Boston University women’s athletics programs will host their annual golf outing on Monday, August 20, at River Bend County Club in West Bridgewater, Mass. The tournament will celebrate the accomplishments of the past year for Terrier women’s athletics and preview anticipated future successes.

Participation in the event exists either in the form of signing up to play a round of 18 holes or various sponsorship opportunities. Cost for a foursome is $600 ($150 per individual), whereas sponsorships range from $200 - $10,000, depending on the level. Proceeds from the tournament directly contribute to the experience of the BU student-athlete and allows them opportunities to foster their athletic and academic excellence.

In 2006-07, Boston University women’s athletics secured six America East championships (cross country, field hockey, golf, indoor track, lacrosse and tennis), while two coaches were honored as coach of the year in their respective sports (softball and golf). Individually, senior runner Marisa Ryan was named the America East Woman of the Year, given to a female student-athlete that best exemplifies a commitment to service, leadership, athletics and academics.

The Boston University athletics department was also honored with the America East Stuart P. Haskell Commissioner’s Cup for the second consecutive time and fifth time in the last six years. It is awarded to the highest scoring athletic program in the conference.
