NEWARK, Del- Boston University sophomore Stacey Gallacher (Horseheads, NY) won both the one- and the three-meter diving events Friday and Saturday (March 1-2) at the Eastern College Athletic Conference championships that were hosted by the University of Delaware. The ECAC championships brought together the top divers and swimmers in the East. Gallacher scored 265.85 in winning the one-meter competition and 459.40 in taking the three-meter event.

Gallacher, who was named the ECAC Woman Diver of the Year, became the first Terrier diver to win both events.

"Stacey made all her difficult dives in a very close competition," said Terrier diving coach Agnes Miller, who was voted the ECAC Women's Diving Coach of the Year. "She has become more confident in her second year and is making the hard dives.

"Her hard work all year long helped her feel more comfortable with the complicated dives," continued Miller. "Stacey's performance proves that she is right there and it gives her the confidence she needs to make it to NCAA competition in the near future."

In addition to Gallacher's impressive performance, fellow Terrier Bridget Nord (Bloomington, IL) scored a 388.80 in taking fifth place in the three-meter and a 203.00 in placing seventh in the one-meter.
